The Driftwood Spars

The Driftwood Spars is a brewpub with rooms on Trevaunance Road in St Agnes, 200 metres from Trevaunance Cove. It has a four-star rating for its guest accommodation, two bars, a brewery and a restaurant, so this is a working pub with beds upstairs rather than a quiet hotel.

Rooms come as twin, double, family and single, with check-in from 3pm and check-out by 10am. Wi-Fi, parking and an EV charging point are available, and dogs are not accepted. The bars pour Cornish ales, the kitchen serves homemade food, and there is barista-style coffee for the morning.

The name comes from the spars, the huge beams salvaged from shipwrecks along this coast, that make up the structure of the building. The pub dates its origins to the 1650s, when it began as a tin mining warehouse. It later served as a chandlery, a sail-making loft and a fish cellar before being converted into a hotel and bar in the early 1900s.

Trevaunance Cove is 200 metres away and Trevellas Cove 700 metres. **Best for:** guests wanting a pub base by the cove with food, ale and a brewery on site. **Less good for:** anyone travelling with a dog, or wanting a self-catering kitchen.
