The Gannet Inn

The Gannet Inn is a B&B in Carbis Bay in a house built in 1900, eight minutes’ walk from the Blue Flag sandy beach at Carbis Bay. Most rooms look out over the garden or the sea; all have en-suite bathrooms with bath or shower, hairdryer, and tea-making facilities.

St Ives town centre is 1.5 miles, reachable on foot along the South West Coast Path in about 25 minutes, or one stop on the St Ives Bay Line branch train. The coast path running through Carbis Bay also heads west toward Lelant and the Hayle Estuary RSPB reserve. Porthkidney beach is 2 miles along the path, and Porthminster beach at St Ives is 2.1 miles.

The Carbis Bay Hotel - which hosted the 2021 G7 summit - is also on the headland above the beach and runs its own spa. It's a 5-minute walk if guests want a second dining option.

Best for: couples after a beach-adjacent base with evening entertainment on site and easy St Ives access. Less good for: guests who need a self-catering kitchen or want to avoid a bar environment in the building.
