The Hideout is a ground-floor apartment in Carbis Bay, sleeping 4 across 2 bedrooms - 1 double and 1 twin zip-and-link - with 1 bathroom. The open-plan lounge and kitchen is decorated in a nautical coastal style, with seaside-themed accessories and artwork throughout. An outdoor seating area sits to the front. Dogs are welcome, and parking is on site.

Carbis Bay beach is 700 metres on foot: a Blue Flag sandy cove with RNLI lifeguard cover in summer, calm enough for swimming and paddleboarding in most conditions. The South West Coast Path runs directly through the village, giving walkers a choice of direction - west towards Lelant and the Hayle Estuary RSPB reserve, or east along the cliffs into St Ives.

St Ives is 2.1 miles by the coast path or a one-stop train ride from Carbis Bay Halt, around 500 metres from the apartment. Porthkidney Beach, a quieter dune-backed strand in the Hayle Estuary SSSI, is 1.5 miles in the other direction. The Carbis Bay Hotel spa, which hosted the 2021 G7 summit, is a 10-minute walk up the headland.

Best for: families or two couples who want a beach-facing base with direct coast path access and dog-friendly accommodation a short train ride from St Ives. Less good for: guests wanting a hot tub or wood burner, or those expecting a full cottage rather than an apartment.
