The village has its own sailing school, a handful of restaurants, and St Enodoc Golf Club nearby. Daymer Bay - a sheltered, dog-friendly sandy beach at the mouth of the Camel - is about 1.3 miles south. Polzeath with its reliable beach-break surf is about 2 miles north.

The Camel Trail cycle path can be joined at Wadebridge, 4 miles south, running along the estuary to Padstow. Port Isaac is about 8 miles north. Changeover is Friday.

**Best for:** Families and couples with dogs who want estuary-side village life, easy access to Padstow, and both calm and surf beaches within a short drive.

**Less good for:** Those on a tight budget - Rock is one of Cornwall's pricier villages; anyone expecting a fireplace or wood burner (this property has neither).
