The Orchard

The Orchard is a three-bedroom cottage for six in wooded countryside at Cardinham, with St Neot the nearest village. Two bedrooms have Juliet balconies looking into the trees, and the third uses a zip-link bed that works as a double or twins. Two bathrooms serve the group of six.

The enclosed garden includes a genuine orchard - a large one - which gives children and dogs real room to roam without leaving the property. Central heating, Wi-Fi, parking, a dishwasher and a washing machine are included, dogs are welcome, and Friday is the changeover day. Cardinham Woods' walking and cycling trails are the area's main draw.

This is an inland base, and honestly so: Readymoney Cove is 10.9 miles away, Lansallos Beach is 11 miles and Port Gaverne is 11.1 miles. The near-identical distances mean south-coast and north-coast beach days are equally practical, but nothing is walkable.
