The View

The View is a one-bedroom cottage in Cardinham parish, east Cornwall, sleeping two adults with a hot tub in the enclosed rear garden. It sits about 4 miles east of Bodmin, in a quiet rural setting close to Cardinham Woods - 650 hectares of Forestry England woodland with waymarked walking and mountain biking trails.

The cottage sleeps two in a king-size bedroom and has one bathroom. Inside there is a wood-burning stove and an open fire, along with a washing machine and Wi-Fi. The garden is fully enclosed, which works well for the one dog permitted. There is no dishwasher. Parking is provided. Changeover is Friday; bookings are weekly only.

Cardinham is a short drive from Lanhydrock, the National Trust's Victorian country house estate about 3 miles to the west. Bodmin town, with shops, supermarkets, and rail links, is roughly 4 miles away. The nearest beaches are Readymoney Cove and Lansallos Beach, both around 10.5 miles south. Port Gaverne is a similar distance north on the Atlantic coast. The Camel Trail cycleway is accessible from Bodmin, adding another day-out option.

Best for: couples wanting a quiet woodland base with a hot tub and fire, or those planning outdoor days at Cardinham Woods. Less suited to those primarily after a beach holiday - the nearest sandy coves are over 10 miles away, and the Friday-only changeover limits flexible arrival.
