The Retreat

The Retreat is a duplex apartment at Gallinas Point in St Ives, spread over two floors and sleeping six. A king and a twin bedroom are on the top floor, with a second king on the ground floor. Two bathrooms serve them: a family bathroom with bath and shower over, and a shower room with an enclosed shower.

The open-plan living space combines kitchen, dining area and a sitting area, and opens on to an enclosed south-facing balcony with sea views, a table and chairs. The kitchen has an oven, electric hob, microwave, fridge, freezer and a dishwasher, and a washer/dryer is included. Entertainment covers a TV with Sky, Freeview TVs in two bedrooms, a PS4, Blu-Ray player and WiFi. One cot and a highchair are provided, but guests bring their own cot bedding. Bed linen, towels, fuel and power are included.

Parking is one space behind a barrier, 2.5m wide and 4.51m long. The apartment is up 8 external steps. Two guests get complimentary passes to HarSPA at The Harbour Hotel, valid until 25 October 2026, with membership reviewed yearly by the owner and subject to renewal, and you call the spa before arrival to arrange entry. Shops, beaches and pubs are within a short walk.

House rules: no check-ins on Sundays, no smoking, no candles, and no charging of lithium-powered devices such as e-bikes or scooters. Building works are ongoing on The Terrace Road. The apartment suits a family or two couples, and is less good for anyone travelling with a dog, as pets are not allowed.
