Toadstools is a detached 1-bedroom cottage at Rame Cross, set in the wooded valley between Penryn and Carnon Downs. It sleeps 2 with 1 bathroom, and comes with both a wood-burning stove and an open fire - a practical combination for year-round stays. Dogs are welcome.

Inside, the layout is compact but functional. The single bedroom handles a couple comfortably, and the open-plan living space has the wood burner as its focal point. A washing machine and parking are included; there's no dishwasher. The enclosed garden is a genuine asset for guests travelling with a dog, giving a secure outdoor space without road access. Penryn is the closest town - about 2 miles north - with independent cafes along Broad Street and a monthly farmers' market. Falmouth's National Maritime Museum and harbour are roughly 3 miles away. The nearest beach is Maenporth at 4.8 miles, followed by Helford Passage at 5.1 miles - a quiet estuary beach on the Helford River popular with kayakers. Trebah and Glendurgan gardens are both within 5 miles south.

Best for couples or solo travellers wanting a quiet rural base with easy Falmouth access and dog-walking on their doorstep. Less suited to guests expecting a beach-focused holiday - the nearest sand is a drive rather than a walk.
