Greenaway Beach is 400m on foot, reached via a short path through the dunes. It is a sandy, relatively sheltered cove that catches less surf than Polzeath to the north. Daymer Bay beach is 600m - the broad, flat estuary beach at the mouth of the Camel. Polzeath, which has a surf school and more facilities, is 1.1km.

The Trebetherick and Rock area is well known for sailing, golf at St Enodoc, and the seasonal water taxi to Padstow across the estuary. The churchyard at St Enodoc, where the poet John Betjeman is buried, is a short walk inland. Rock village has a small selection of restaurants and a sailing club.

The Trebetherick area has a quieter, residential character compared to the more active village of Rock, 1-2km south. St Enodoc Church - where the poet John Betjeman is buried - is a short walk inland through the golf course. The churchyard is open year-round.
