One-bedroom couples' cottage on the south side of Wadebridge, within walking distance of the town centre and the start of the Camel Trail. Sleeps two, with a private garden and parking.

The cottage runs as a quiet retreat for two: one double bedroom, a shower room, and an open kitchen-diner with electric oven, hob, microwave, fridge-freezer, washing machine, and tumble dryer. Wi-Fi throughout. Honest caveat: it's not set up for dogs. The lounge has a TV and DVD player, and the bedroom is a spacious double. The cottage has one bathroom, a shower room, for the two guests.

Outside, an enclosed garden with table and chairs catches afternoon sun. Wadebridge town centre is a short walk for Eddy's Pasties, The Relish cafe, and Saltwater restaurant. The Royal Cornwall Showground sits on the south side of town and hosts the Royal Cornwall Show each June. Padstow is 8 miles west by road or a 5-mile cycle along the Camel Trail; Daymer Bay and Polzeath beach sit 7 to 8 miles north across the estuary; the Eden Project is 25 miles south.

Best for a couple wanting a quiet, low-maintenance base near a working market town with cycling and beaches close by. Less good for dog owners or anyone wanting remote-feeling countryside.
