Porthminster Beach, known for its calm water and the Porthminster Beach Cafe, is 1.4km along the coast path. St Ives harbour beach is 1.6km. The Tate St Ives gallery, with rotating exhibitions of modern and contemporary art, is in the town centre.

The St Ives branch-line railway terminates at St Ives station, 10 minutes from Carbis Bay station, giving a car-free option for reaching the town in under 5 minutes. Trains run from St Erth, where you change from the main line.

Carbis Bay village has a small convenience store, cafe, and hotel restaurant within a few minutes on foot. The coast path to St Ives runs above the beach and takes under 30 minutes to walk.

This is a good choice for couples or small families who want immediate beach access and a connection to St Ives without paying St Ives prices. Not great for those wanting a garden or dog-friendly accommodation. Changeover is Saturday.
