Trenant 6 is a three-bedroom log cottage sleeping 6, on the edge of Little Petherick - a hamlet in a wooded creek valley 2 miles south of Padstow. The building is a detached timber-frame structure set in its own gated garden, with more space inside than its modest exterior suggests.

The ground floor has an open-plan lounge and kitchen/dining room that seats eight, a separate snug with desk and bean bags, a WC, and a utility room with washing machine and direct rear access - useful after beach trips. The lounge opens onto a balcony. Upstairs: two double bedrooms and one twin, plus two bathrooms. The master double has an en-suite shower room; the second bathroom serves the other two rooms. Up to two dogs are welcome.

The gated timber deck outside catches rural views over the fields and connects directly to both the kitchen and lounge. Padstow harbour is a 2-mile drive north - or a 30-minute walk down the lane. The Camel Trail starts at Wadebridge, 5 miles south, and runs flat along the estuary to Padstow. Camel Creek Family Theme Park is under 3 miles away. Trevone Bay is the nearest beach, 4.4km west - a sheltered sandy cove with a tidal pool.

Best for a small family or group of friends who want access to Padstow without paying Padstow property prices. Less good for guests without a car - the hamlet has no pub or shop. Changeover on a night basis; ask HolidayCottages about minimum stays.
