Trenoweth

Trenoweth is a three-bedroom cottage for six on the historic fishermen's terraces above East Looe. Two terrace levels look across the town and harbour, and a wood burner stands in the lounge for cooler evenings.

Two super-king-size bedrooms and one twin share a single bathroom, so the upstairs arrangement suits a family or a couple of couples rather than several separate groups. The upper rooms have low, sloping ceilings. Wi-Fi, parking, a dishwasher, washing machine and barbecue are provided, and the two outdoor levels separate a dining terrace from the lawn. Dogs are not accepted, so this is not a fit for guests travelling with a pet.

East Looe Beach, a sheltered, sandy stretch by the harbour, is 300 metres away. Hannafore Beach, known for some of the best rock pools in Cornwall, and Plaidy Beach, a quieter mixed sand-and-shingle cove, are each 0.7 miles from the cottage. Wild Futures Monkey Sanctuary, Duloe Stone Circle and Porfell Wildlife Park are all within 10 miles for a day away from the coast. **Best for:** a family or group wanting harbour views, three bedrooms and East Looe Beach within a five-minute walk. **Less good for:** dog owners, six guests wanting more than one bathroom, or visitors who struggle with low ceilings and stairs.
