Treveth Lowen

Treveth Lowen is a detached four-bedroom cottage near Rock, sleeping nine guests across a king-size ground-floor bedroom, two king-size first-floor rooms (one with en-suite shower), and a children's room with triple bunks. The property sits in the Camel Estuary area, within reach of Rock's beaches and the South West Coast Path.

Inside, the open-plan kitchen and dining area seats 10 around a single table. The sitting room has both a wood burner and an open fire - useful from October through April when evenings turn cold. Up to two dogs are welcome, parking fits three cars, and WiFi is included throughout.

The garden is set up for evening use: there's a hot tub with countryside views, a pizza oven, and a BBQ for cooking out after a day at the beach. Polzeath is the closest surf beach, under 3 miles, while Port Quin cove - quieter and rockier - is a similar distance in the other direction. Rock village and its sandy estuary beach are less than 2 miles east.

Best for: families with young children needing flexible sleeping, groups who eat together, or two families sharing. Less good for: couples looking for something compact, or anyone wanting a town-centre location.
