Porthkidney Beach and Porthminster Beach - the sheltered south-facing beach at St Ives harbour - are each about 1.1 miles in different directions. The branch-line rail halt in Carbis Bay connects to St Ives in one stop and to the main GWR network at St Erth in 12 minutes. The South West Coast Path runs through the village, with easy walking west toward Lelant or east toward St Ives harbour.

Best for: couples or small families wanting a compact beach-town base with easy train access to St Ives. Less suited to larger groups or dog owners.
