Villa 6

Villa 6 is a reverse-level, three-bedroom dog-friendly cottage in Mullion on the Lizard, sleeping six, set within the Polurrian on the Lizard hotel complex. Polurrian Beach is 400m away - a sandy cove that catches Atlantic swell and is good for rock pooling at low tide. Mullion Cove harbour is 900m south.

The living area and kitchen sit on the upper floor, opening to a balcony. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms are on the ground level. The kitchen has a dishwasher and hob. Guests have access to the hotel's heated indoor and outdoor swimming pools, gym, spa and tennis court - an unusual level of facilities for a self-catering cottage. Parking and wifi are included.

Poldhu Cove is 1.5km to the north - a wide, north-west facing beach with reliable surf. Helston is around 6 miles away, with the Flambards experience, the Museum of Cornish Life, and access to Porthleven harbour. Kynance Cove and Lizard Point are a 15-minute drive south along the coast.

Best for families or groups who want a dog-friendly base with on-site pool access and several beaches within easy reach. Less good for couples wanting a quiet retreat - the hotel complex means shared facilities and neighbours.
