Downderry is a small coastal village on the south Cornwall coast, quieter than the main resort beaches at Looe and Whitsand Bay. The beach itself is sandy and rarely crowded even in summer. Seaton village, immediately east, has a cafe. Looe is roughly 15 minutes by car and offers a full range of shops, restaurants, a fish market, and a harbour boat trip service. Plaidy Beach is 5.1km. The coast path runs along the clifftops in both directions from the village, giving access to longer walking routes towards Rame Head or Polperro.

Best for groups of up to 7 who want direct beach access in a genuinely quiet south coast location. Suits families where single-storey living is a priority. Less good for those wanting evening entertainment within walking distance - Downderry has limited after-dark options. Changeover is Saturday.
