1 Miller's Island

A private bridge is how you reach 1 Miller's Island, a single-storey lodge beside a lake on a holiday park near Lanreath. The lake is 0.1 miles away, and Looe and Polperro are a short drive off. The setting is woodland and lakes rather than a village street.

The lodge sleeps four. The king-size bedroom has an en-suite walk-in shower with a basin and WC and opens onto the deck. The twin bedroom has beds that zip and link, so it can be made up as a double on request, and the family bathroom has a bath with a shower over. Bed linen, towels, two bathrobes and toiletries are included, as are fuel and power.

The open-plan living area has a kitchen, dining area and sitting area under gas central heating. The kitchen has an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer and dishwasher, and there are two TVs with Freeview, a DVD player and WiFi. A highchair and a travel cot without a mattress can be hired.

Outside, gated and enclosed decking has furniture and a hot tub. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome, kept on a lead on the park. The decking is over the lake and there are other lakes on site, so children must be supervised at all times. Barbecues are not allowed on site, charging electric vehicles is not permitted and Sunday arrivals are not accepted.

Off-road parking is for one car. The park has a pub and restaurant, the shop is 1.3 miles away and another pub is 3.3 miles away. Check-in is from 4pm and check-out by 10am. It suits couples or a small family with dogs; it is less good for anyone planning to arrive on a Sunday or run an electric car.
