A front patio provides outdoor seating. The indoor heated pool has a toddler splash pool alongside the main pool; there is also an outdoor pool for summer. The Tamar Valley Line railway runs through Gunnislake to Plymouth - a 40-minute journey through river gorge scenery.

The nearest beaches are Downderry Beach and Whitsand Bay, both 12 miles south. Whitsand Bay has 4 miles of south-facing sand, lifeguarded in summer. The National Trust's Cotehele estate, with its 1,300 acres of woodland and medieval hall, is a short drive. Best for families who prioritise on-site facilities and Tamar Valley scenery. Less suited to those wanting coastal access without a 20-minute drive.
