A detached single-storey bungalow at Honicombe Holiday Village near Gunnislake in the Tamar Valley, sleeping 6 in three bedrooms. The 20-acre estate includes a shared indoor heated pool, an outdoor pool, a gym, games room, shop, and on-site pub - more resort infrastructure than a standard self-catering complex.

Inside, the open-plan living space has two sofas, an electric fire, and a wall-mounted TV. The kitchen has a glass dining table and a washing machine. Three bedrooms - one double and two twins - share a shower room and a separate cloakroom. Everything is on one level, and the shower room has a walk-in shower. Guests who need step-free access should check with the owner before booking.

A front patio provides outdoor seating. The indoor heated pool has a toddler splash pool alongside the main pool; there is also an outdoor pool for summer. The swimming pool is out of use until March, so check which pool is open for your dates. The Tamar Valley Line railway runs through Gunnislake to Plymouth - a 40-minute journey through river gorge scenery.

The nearest beaches are on the south coast, with Whitsand Bay around 20 miles away and Downderry Beach on the same stretch of coast. Whitsand Bay has 4 miles of south-facing sand, lifeguarded in summer. The National Trust's Cotehele estate, with its 1,300 acres of woodland and medieval hall, is a short drive. Best for families who prioritise on-site facilities and Tamar Valley scenery. Less suited to those wanting coastal access without a drive of around 20 miles.
