The sitting room has an open fire set into the original stone surround - useful in shoulder seasons when evenings are cool on the exposed headland. Two bedrooms sleep 4: a double and a twin, with a family bathroom on the same floor. A private patio garden wraps around the rear, with off-road parking outside.

Geevor Tin Mine, one of the largest preserved mining sites in the UK, is under 1 mile from the front door. The adjacent Priests Cove at Cape Cornwall is 4.2km - a working fishing cove with a slipway rather than a sandy beach, but authentic and rarely crowded. Levant Mine, which houses the last remaining working beam engine in Cornwall under National Trust management, is 1.5 miles.

This cottage is best for couples or small families with a genuine interest in Cornwall's mining heritage, coastal walking, and off-season breaks. It is good for dogs - the patio is enclosed and the surrounding countryside is open. It is less good for guests expecting sandy beach proximity: the nearest sandy beaches at Gwynver and Sennen Cove are 7km and 9km respectively.

St Ives is under 10 miles east, reachable in 20 minutes by car. Penzance, the main market town with rail connections to London Paddington, is 8 miles. The South West Coast Path passes near the village, giving direct walking access to the dramatic cliff scenery between Cape Cornwall and Land's End.
