Solebay Cottage

Solebay Cottage is a two-bedroom property within the grounds of Pendeen Lighthouse on a granite headland on the far west of the Penwith peninsula, sleeping 4 with 1 bathroom. The lighthouse was established in 1900 and still operates as a working aid to navigation. The cottage is managed in association with Trinity House and sits within a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest. Atlantic seals haul out on the rocks below the headland, and grey seals are regularly visible from the garden. Pink thrift and sea campion cover the headland in spring.

The South West Coast Path runs directly past the property. Pendeen village is a short walk inland - a working mining community with a pub and the Geevor Tin Mine museum, which documents the region's deep-mining history up to its 1990 closure. Priests Cove is 3 miles away, a rocky cove used by local fishermen at Cape Cornwall. Gwynver Beach is 5.3 miles and Sennen Cove 6.3 miles - both managed surfing beaches with parking and facilities.

St Just, 2 miles inland, is the westernmost town in mainland Britain and has a supermarket, several pubs, and a market square. Penzance is around 8 miles south.
