3 Hedgerows

The hot tub is the first thing to know about 3 Hedgerows: it is private, and it sits on an enclosed terrace that comes with the lodge. The lodge stands among lakes and woodland near the village of Lanreath, with Looe, Polperro and Fowey all a short drive away. Everything is on one floor.

The open-plan living space combines the kitchen, a dining area and a sitting area with a wood burner, and gas central heating covers the rest. The kitchen has an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer and dishwasher. There are two TVs with Freeview and fibre optic broadband. Two bathrobes and travel-size toiletries are included, along with bed linen, towels, fuel and power.

The king-size bedroom has its own TV and an en-suite walk-in shower with a basin and WC. The second room is a twin, and the main bathroom has a bath with a shower over. A highchair and a travel cot without a mattress can be hired, and one well-behaved dog is welcome.

The rules are worth reading before you book. The terrace is enclosed but ungated, and with the lakes and open water on site, children must be accompanied at all times. Barbecues cannot be brought to the site, charging electric vehicles is not permitted and Sunday arrivals are not allowed. Check-in is at 4pm and check-out at 10am; parking is for one car.

A restaurant or pub is 0.1 miles away and the nearest shop is 3.4 miles. It suits couples, or a small family with one dog and children old enough to stay close by the water; it is less good for anyone who wants to bring a barbecue or charge an electric car.
