Carbis Bay works as a base for St Ives, reachable by a 25-minute coast path walk or one stop on the branch line. Two dogs are welcome for a small additional charge. The South West Coast Path runs through the village, connecting west to the Hayle Estuary RSPB reserve and east to St Ives harbour.
