9 Stonerush Valley

Lakes and woodland surround 9 Stonerush Valley, a lodge on a holiday park near Lanreath. Floor-to-ceiling windows look across the valley, and the whole layout is on one level. Two bedrooms sleep four: a double with an en-suite shower, basin and WC, and a twin room, with a separate bathroom holding a bath and shower over.

The living space is open plan, with the kitchen, dining area and a sitting area that has a woodburner and opens onto the decked terrace. Guests bring their own woodburner fuel, though fuel and power are otherwise included in the rent and gas central heating runs throughout. Appliances include an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer, plus a TV with Freeview and fibre optic broadband. Linen, towels, two bathrobes and travel-size toiletries are provided, and a travel cot (no mattress) and highchair are available to hire.

The terrace is private, enclosed and gated, and holds the hot tub; it sits beside a stream, and bridleways start close by for dog walks. The pub and restaurant on the park are five minutes on foot, and the nearest shop is 4 miles away. Because the lodge has a decked area and there are lakes on site, children need supervising at all times. Barbecues may not be brought to the park, and electric vehicle charging is not allowed.

Two well-behaved dogs are welcome and must be kept on a lead on the park. The lodge is best for couples or dog owners, and suits a family of four with children old enough to be watched near water. Parking is off-road for one car on a steep drive. Check-in is 4pm, check-out 10am, smoking is not permitted and Sunday arrivals are not accepted.
