Bay House, Hidden St Ives

Bay House has a reverse-level layout: the two bedrooms are downstairs and the open-plan living space is on the upper level, where the kitchen, dining table and sitting area share a room with a balcony and sea views. Underfloor heating runs through the house, and fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included in the rent.

The king-size bedroom has its own en-suite with a walk-in shower, basin and WC. The twin beds can be zipped and linked into a super-king-size if you ask in advance. A separate bathroom has a bath with a shower over it. Both bedrooms have a TV, and the kitchen has an oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine.

Outside, a furnished terrace holds a hot tub for your party alone. You also get the use of the Hidden Lounge in the development, which has a communal hot tub, sauna, steam room, gym and foot spa. Extra services are booked through the concierge team, and there is a free chauffeur service within two miles of the house once you have checked in, running from 7am to 9pm.

St Ives is close: the beach is 0.3 miles away, a shop 0.2 miles and a pub 0.6 miles. Off-road parking sits at the house. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome, and smoking is not allowed. A travel cot, highchair and stairgate can be arranged before you arrive, and a three-night minimum applies over Christmas and New Year week. The house suits two couples or a family of four; the bedrooms sit a floor below the living space, so it is less good for anyone who finds stairs difficult.
