Port Gaverne Beach is under a mile away - a small north-facing cove sheltered by high cliffs, with calm water for swimming in settled conditions. The South West Coast Path runs directly past. Port Isaac itself is known for the Doc Martin filming locations and the Fishermen's Friends choir, which still performs in the harbour on summer Fridays.

Polzeath Beach, a wide sandy surf beach popular with families and beginners, is 4 miles along the coast. Tregardock, a much more remote and tide-sensitive strand, is 3.4 miles for those wanting to avoid crowds. The walled town of Padstow and Rick Stein's restaurant cluster is about 12.4 miles south-west.

Ideal for couples or small families who want a village-centre base with sea views and easy coastal walking. One well-behaved dog is welcome, and a second may be considered on request.
