Cloam Cottage

Cloam Cottage is a two-bedroom period cottage on Fore Street, the main road running down to Port Isaac's 14th-century harbour. The cottage sits right in the working fishing village - the front door opens directly onto the street, with the harbour and slipway a short walk downhill.

The ground floor has a sitting room with exposed beams, stone fireplace, and woodburning stove. The kitchen-diner leads through to a utility area. Upstairs, reached by steep stairs, there is a double bedroom and a twin, sharing a bathroom with walk-in shower. A first-floor cloakroom adds a second WC. The cottage takes one dog.

Port Gaverne Beach is 600 metres east on foot - a sheltered cove with calm, clear water suited to swimming and kayaking, plus rock pools at low tide. Tregardock Beach lies 3.4 miles south, a more remote and exposed sandy beach with surf.

Port Isaac itself is a working fishing port where boats still launch from the slipway at low tide. Nathan Outlaw's Michelin-starred restaurant is in the village, and the Fisherman's Friends sing sea shanties on the Platt. Allocated parking for one car comes with the cottage, with a public car park roughly 300 yards away for additional vehicles.

Best for couples or small families wanting a harbour-village base right on Port Isaac's main street, with room for one dog; less suited to guests with mobility limitations, since the upstairs bedrooms are reached by steep stairs.
