Chilowan

Chilowan is a two-bedroom cottage in the hamlet of Trewarmett, near Tintagel on Cornwall's north coast. It sleeps 4 guests in a king-size bedroom with en-suite walk-in shower and a twin room. A separate bathroom has a bath and hand-held shower.

The split-level interior has a kitchen/diner with a TV on the upper level and a sitting room four steps down, warmed by a woodburning stove. An air source heat pump powers underfloor heating throughout. The kitchen includes an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, and dishwasher. WiFi and a Smart TV are provided. Dogs are welcome - up to two well-behaved pets.

Outside, the enclosed garden has a patio and lawn, though there are steps within the garden to be aware of. Off-road parking is available. Bossiney Cove Beach - a sandy cove with turquoise water, caves, and the distinctive Elephant Rock - is 1.7 miles northwest. Tregardock Beach, a remote surf spot reached by a steep clifftop path, lies 2.2 miles to the south.

Tintagel Castle and its footbridge are roughly 1.5 miles away. King Arthur's Arms Inn, family-run for over 80 years, and Charlie's Cafe and Deli with its 14-hour proved sourdough are both in Tintagel village. The nearest pub is 1 mile away, with a shop at 1.6 miles.

Best for a couple or small family bringing a dog who want a fire-warmed base near Tintagel Castle. Less good for anyone needing step-free access - the sitting room is four steps down from the kitchen, and there are steps within the garden too.
