Crumpet Cottage

Crumpet Cottage is a two-bedroom terrace on a quiet lane in Mylor Bridge, the village at the head of Mylor Creek on the Fal estuary. It sleeps four across a double and a twin, and the village post office, butcher and Lemon Arms pub are all walkable from the front door.

The single bathroom is the constraint for two couples sharing - fine for a family of four with one child still bath-time-aged, less ideal for adult friends. The kitchen has a dishwasher and washing machine, and the layout is described by the owner as accessible (single floor living areas) though the cottage is not wheelchair-rated. Dogs are welcome throughout, and there is a private garden plus parking nearby rather than directly outside.

Mylor Yacht Harbour, with its sailing school and chandlery, is two miles down the creek. The thatched Pandora Inn at Restronguet Creek - 13th-century origins, mooring jetty - is the local waterside pub. Falmouth is under 5 miles south for the National Maritime Museum and Gyllyngvase Beach. Truro, Cornwall's cathedral city, is 8 miles north, and the King Harry Ferry crosses the Fal to the Roseland from 5 miles away.

Best for couples, small families and dog owners who want a village base rather than a beachfront. Less good for two adult couples sharing or guests needing step-free access to bedrooms upstairs.
