Cregoes

Cregoes is a white-washed four-bedroom on the Fal estuary at Mylor Bridge, sleeping eight with a garden that runs down toward the water. Large windows in the open-plan living area frame the estuary; the marina at Mylor Yacht Harbour is roughly two miles along the creek.

The kitchen pairs a working Aga with a conventional electric cooker - useful when you have eight people to feed and someone has booked a long table at the Pandora Inn for the second night. Two bathrooms serve four bedrooms, which works for families but is tight for four couples sharing. Both an open fire and a wood burner cover cooler evenings, and there is a BBQ on the patio for summer. Dogs are welcome.

Mylor Bridge village - post office, butcher, fishmonger, the Lemon Arms - is on the doorstep. Castle Beach is the nearest stretch of sand at 2 miles, with Gyllyngvase Beach in Falmouth at 2.4 miles. Trelissick Garden and the King Harry Ferry across to the Roseland are within four miles, and Truro is about 7 miles north.

Best for multi-generational families, sailing parties and dog owners who want estuary frontage rather than open coast. Less good for couples chasing surf or anyone needing four en suites for four couples.
