Demelza 2

Demelza 2 is a two-bedroom apartment at Helford Passage on the north bank of the Helford River, one of four units sharing a private riverside plot. The apartment has two bedrooms, which gives a couple or a small family room to spread out.

The open-plan interior combines kitchen, dining and living space in a single room with river views. Parking is on site, a BBQ is available, and dogs are welcome. The shared grassed garden opens through a gate to the beach path. The heated outdoor pool runs from 1 May to the end of September - a rare feature at this price point on the Helford. Kayaks and paddleboards can be hired from the site directly.

Helford Passage Beach is about 100 metres from the gate. Ponsence Cove is 1 mile along the coast and Porth Saxon Beach 1.1 miles. The seasonal foot ferry from the Ferryboat Inn - where the pub terrace overlooks the water - crosses to Helford village on the south bank, giving access to footpaths to Frenchman's Creek. Trebah Garden and Glendurgan Garden are both under half a mile from the hamlet. Falmouth is about 15 minutes by car.

Best for a couple wanting a waterside base with a pool and outdoor space, who plan to explore the Helford by water and visit the National Trust gardens. Less good for larger groups or those coming in winter when the pool and ferry are both closed.
