Coverack Beach is 400m downhill - a sheltered shingle and sand beach in a small fishing harbour, with a beachside cafe and the Paris Hotel pub a short walk away. Porthoustock Beach, a wide bay with good snorkelling at low tide, is 4.4km along the coast road. Cadgwith, one of the most photogenic fishing coves in the area, is 7km south.

Coverack sits on the east side of the Lizard - the most southerly peninsula in mainland Britain - within the Lizard Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village has a small shop and post office covering daily needs. Helston and its wider amenities are about 20 minutes by car.

Ideal for families or two couples who want sea views, a sociable indoor living space, and access to the quieter eastern side of the Lizard. The wood burner and open fire suit shoulder-season stays. Less good for those wanting surf beaches or proximity to the north coast.
