Driftwood Cottage Mousehole

Driftwood Cottage is a 2-bedroom granite cottage in the centre of Mousehole, one of the most compact and atmospheric fishing villages on the Penwith coast. Mousehole Beach sits 200 metres away, and the 14th-century harbour wall is a short walk from the front door. Up to 4 guests stay here, and 2 dogs are welcome.

The ground floor opens into a kitchen/diner with dishwasher and enough space to prepare a proper meal before heading out. A sitting room with smart TV and games leads to the enclosed rear garden, where there is a BBQ and lawned area. A utility room holds the washing machine, dryer, and gear storage for wetsuits and beach kit. Upstairs, the king-size bedroom faces the front of the cottage; the second bedroom has twin beds. One family bathroom serves both rooms.

Lamorna Cove - the rocky inlet that drew an entire artists' colony in the early 20th century - is about 2 miles along the South West Coast Path to the west. The Old Coastguard restaurant and 2 Fore Street are within easy walking distance of the cottage for evenings out. Newlyn, with its working fish market, is 1.5 miles east along the coast road. Parking is available with the property.

Best for: families or couples wanting a genuine village setting within walking distance of harbour, beach, and restaurants. Less good for: guests who need sea views (this cottage faces the village lanes) or those who prefer a quieter rural location.
