Driftwood is a stone-built, semi-detached cottage in the centre of Crantock village, 2 miles southwest of Newquay. It sleeps 6 across three bedrooms - a king, a double and a twin - with two bathrooms, and welcomes dogs. Prices start from £671 per week.

The cottage comes well equipped for a family stay. A hot tub sits in the garden, and the kitchen has a dishwasher and washing machine. Wi-Fi, a BBQ and EV charging are all included - a practical addition given the rural lanes around Crantock. Private parking removes the need to compete for spaces in the National Trust car park behind the dunes.

Crantock Beach is 0.7 miles from the front door - a broad, dune-backed stretch of sand managed by the National Trust with seasonal lifeguard cover. Fistral Beach, known for its surf competitions, is 1.1 miles north. The Gannel Estuary behind Crantock Beach is a tidal creek used by kayakers and paddleboarders, and is designated as an SSSI for its mudflat habitats.

The village has a 13th-century church, the Old Albion pub and a small shop. It runs at a noticeably quieter pace than Newquay, even in August. Newquay's restaurants, zoo and aquarium are about 10 minutes by car, or reachable on foot via the Gannel at low tide.
