Epphaven

Epphaven is a recently refurbished four-bedroom house in Polzeath, sleeping eight across four bedrooms and three bathrooms. The house sits in a residential cul-de-sac 600 metres from Polzeath Beach - a wide north-facing bay with reliable surf, board hire on the sand, and RNLI lifeguard cover from late May through September.

The ground floor runs open-plan with both a wood-burning stove and a separate open fire - two heat sources for a house this size is a practical advantage outside peak season. Outside, a BBQ and enclosed garden give the group an outdoor space without shared facilities. The kitchen has a dishwasher; a utility room holds the washing machine. WiFi and off-road parking are included. Dogs are welcome. Friday changeover.

Greenaway Beach sits 900 metres along the coast - a quieter cove sheltered from the main Polzeath crowds. Daymer Bay is 1.3km further: a sheltered estuary beach with calm water, no surf, and easier swimming for younger children. The South West Coast Path connects Polzeath north to Port Quin and south towards Rock and the Camel Estuary, with the ferry to Padstow running from Rock in season.

Best for groups of eight or families with dogs who want reliable surf-beach access within walking distance, with an enclosed outdoor space for evenings. Less good for those looking for seclusion - Polzeath village is immediately on the doorstep and the beach car park fills early in July and August.
