Gillyflower Cottage

Gillyflower Cottage is a granite terraced cottage for four beside the 40-acre Steeple Woodland Nature Reserve on the edge of St Ives. One king-size bedroom and one twin share a single bathroom, a layout that suits a family with older children as well as two couples willing to share.

Beamed ceilings, exposed stone walls and a wood burner set in a stone fireplace remain from the original building. Wi-Fi, parking, a dishwasher and a washing machine are all included, and dogs are welcome. The fully enclosed garden gives outside space at the rear, though there is a drop between the lawn and the patio, so young children need watching near the edge.

Porthminster Beach is 1 mile away, and both Carbis Bay and St Ives Harbour Beach are 1.1 miles away. St Ives town centre is within walking distance, with Tate St Ives and the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden among the galleries close by. Porthminster's beachfront café and the harbour's fish restaurants are both reachable on foot.

**Best for:** a family or two couples wanting woodland on the doorstep, a wood burner and St Ives on foot. **Less good for:** guests needing step-free accommodation, a second bathroom or a level garden without drops.
