The coast path runs in both directions from the village. Heading west, Port Quin is about 3 km along the cliff - a largely abandoned hamlet with a secluded inlet. Tintagel Castle is roughly 15 km up the coast. The area gained international recognition as the filming location for ITV's Doc Martin, and the Fisherman's Friends still perform sea shanties on the Platt.
