Carbis Bay beach is 700m downhill - a sheltered sandy cove, largely protected from the Atlantic swell that catches the north-facing beaches. St Ives is 1.2 miles along the coast path, or a two-minute ride on the St Ives branch line from Carbis Bay station. St Ives has the Tate gallery on Porthmeor beach, the Barbara Hepworth Museum, and a tight grid of independent galleries and restaurants. Porthkidney Beach, a quieter and less visited stretch of sand, is 0.9 miles in the other direction along the estuary. Changeover is Saturday.

Best for couples or families with young children who want reliable beach access and easy access to St Ives. Less suitable for dog owners or guests who need a ground-floor arrangement.
