Good Day Sunshine is a two-bedroom fisherman's cottage in St Ives' Downalong quarter, sleeping 4. The ground floor has an open-plan lounge with an electric log-effect wood burner and an AGA kitchen. On the first floor: a king-size bedroom with sea views and a bathroom with a freestanding tub and separate shower. The top-floor children's bedroom sits under the eaves and opens directly off the staircase with no landing or door - worth knowing before booking. WiFi, a dishwasher, and a washing machine are included. Rates start from GBP435 per night.

Access is via 30 steps up from street level - this cottage is not suitable for anyone with limited mobility. Dogs are welcome, and the garden is an added asset at this price point in central St Ives.

Porthminster Beach is 0.3km from the door - a wide, south-facing sandy bay with a cafe and lifeguard cover in summer. St Ives Harbour Beach is also 0.3km in the other direction, and Porthmeor Beach - the surf beach below the Tate St Ives - is 0.6km. The Tate gallery and Barbara Hepworth Sculpture Garden are both a short walk through the town's narrow lanes. Restaurants cluster around the harbour: Porthminster Cafe, one Fish Street, and the Hub Box burger bar are all within 10 minutes on foot.

Best for couples or families with older children who want to be in the centre of St Ives with beach access in two directions. Less good for anyone with mobility limitations or a need for pushchair access.
