Boscastle harbour is roughly 3.7 miles south along the coast path or road. Bude is about 7.5 miles north, with two sandy town beaches - Crooklets and Summerleaze - and a surf school. Widemouth Bay, a long straight-sand beach popular with families and bodyboarders, is 5 miles to the north. Millook Beach, a quieter pebble and rock cove with rock pools, is 3.4 miles away.

Good for couples or solo active travellers wanting a base close to serious coast path terrain. Less good for guests expecting immediate beach access, as the 1.1 miles to the shore requires a drive or a walk along the lane.
