Puddle Duck Shepherds Hut

Puddle Duck Shepherd's Hut is a self-contained studio on Pattacott Farm at Maxworthy, near Launceston, sleeping two in a double bed with kitchenette and sitting area. The farm sits in rural north Cornwall roughly five miles inland from the dramatic Heritage Coast cliffs between Crackington Haven and Bude.

The hut has a private hot tub, a garden with fire pit and BBQ, plus wifi and parking. A starter pack of logs for the fire pit is included on arrival. There is no dishwasher or washing machine, which is typical for shepherd's hut accommodation. Friday changeover.

Three sand-and-shingle beaches are within driving distance: Millook Beach at 9.8km, Widemouth Bay at 10.7km - a long sandy beach popular with surfers - and Crackington Haven at 11.1km, a sheltered cove with distinctive folded cliff strata that draw geology visitors. The South West Coast Path passes through Crackington Haven.

Best for couples wanting a quiet rural retreat with outdoor evening space - the hot tub and fire pit suit short breaks as much as full weeks. Less good for dog owners - no pets are accepted - or anyone without a car, as the farm location is not walkable to shops or the coast.
