Porthminster Beach in St Ives is 1.3 miles, but the branch line train from Carbis Bay station gets there in under five minutes, which removes the need to deal with St Ives parking in season.

Best for couples or a couple with one child who want direct sea views and a calm base with easy rail access to St Ives without the parking difficulties. Less suited to guests with dogs, families needing more than one bedroom, or anyone wanting ground-floor access throughout.
