Lighthouse View

Lighthouse View is a duplex apartment at the Compass Point development, on the seaward side of Carbis Bay. A large bay window in the open-plan sitting and dining area looks across the bay to Godrevy Lighthouse, and a quiet snug at the back holds a built-in sofa. A gas fire warms the main room, and the kitchen has a coffee machine, dishwasher and washer/dryer.

Both bedrooms are upstairs: a king-size with a TV and double French doors opening to a Juliette balcony, and a single room. The family bathroom has a bath and a walk-in shower, and there is a separate cloakroom with a WC on the ground floor. It sleeps 3 guests. A cot and highchair are provided, but guests bring their own cot bedding. Bed linen, towels, fuel and power are included.

Outside, a south-facing terrace has furniture for eating out, and a shared terrace at the front faces the sea. There is off-road parking for one car. Access is via two short flights of steps, and an internal staircase of 12 steps leads up to the bedrooms. Check-in is from 4pm and check-out by 10am. Pets are not allowed and the apartment is non-smoking.

The layout suits a couple or a small family with one child, but the steps outside and the staircase inside make it less good for anyone who wants to avoid stairs.
