Carbis Bay station is about 5 minutes on foot, and St Ives is 3 minutes by the branch line. Porthminster Beach, one of St Ives' main beaches, is 1.3 miles. The Tate St Ives gallery and the town's harbour are accessible by train without needing a car.

Best for couples or pairs of friends who want a quiet base with direct access to St Ives by rail and a beach within easy walking distance. Less good for those travelling with more than three people.
