Merlin's Retreat

Merlin's Retreat is a ground-floor bungalow for four in Tintagel village, with two bedrooms sharing one bathroom. Everything is on the ground floor, including both bedrooms, the conservatory dining area and the bathroom. Guests who need step-free access should check with the owner before booking.

WiFi, a dishwasher and a washing machine are included, with off-road parking for two cars. The enclosed lawned garden gives somewhere to sit outside, while the dishwasher and washing machine take the edge off longer stays. One well-behaved dog is welcome. The kitchen has a Tassimo coffee machine and a tumble dryer, and Sky Q is on all three TVs, including those in both bedrooms.

Bossiney Cove Beach is 0.7 miles away, Tregardock Beach is 3 miles and Port Gaverne Beach is 6 miles. Tintagel Castle, the English Heritage ruins tied to the Arthurian legend, sits on the clifftop above the village and is reached by a footbridge across a 58-metre gorge.

St Nectan's Glen, with its 60-foot waterfall, and the ruined mills of Rocky Valley are both within a short drive, and the South West Coast Path runs along this stretch of the north coast.

Friday is the standard changeover day.

**Best for:** A family or two couples wanting a ground-floor base, garden, parking and laundry facilities within Tintagel village.

**Less good for:** Guests wanting more than one bathroom, a fireside feature or space for more than one dog.
