Ocean Heart Studio- Luxury, Rural Retreat

Ocean Heart Studio is a one-bedroom lodge in the countryside near Wendron, sleeping three across a queen bed and a futon. It sits in the same yard as the working studio of Cornish artist Sophie Bagnall, whose art shop is on site, and check-in runs from 3pm to 10:30pm.

A wood burner and fireplace heat the open-plan living space, and the kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge, microwave, dishwasher and oven. A private entrance opens onto a sun terrace and garden with an outdoor play area and seating, plus a highchair for younger guests. Free-range chickens are kept on site, so the property does not accept dogs.

Helston is an 8-minute drive for supermarkets and other shops. Porthleven harbour is about 15 minutes by car, and both north and south coast beaches are reachable within 20 minutes, including the Lizard. St Michael's Mount is 11 miles away, Carbis Bay 13 miles, St Ives 20 minutes by car, and Falmouth just under 30 minutes.

Best for couples, solo travellers or small families wanting a private, art-filled rural base with easy access to both coasts. Less good for anyone travelling with a dog, since free-ranging chickens on site mean pets are not accepted.
