Penpethy Farm

Ten guests, five bedrooms and five acres of land open to guests: Penpethy Farm is built for a big group. It stands on the outskirts of Tintagel, 2.9 miles from the village and the nearest shop, with the nearest pub 1.6 miles away.

Four of the bedrooms are doubles and one is a twin. Three sit on the ground floor: a double with its own en-suite (freestanding bath, handheld shower, walk-in shower, basin and WC), a second double, and the twin. Two more doubles, one with a TV, are upstairs. Elsewhere there is a ground-floor bathroom with a bath and walk-in shower, a ground-floor shower room and another shower room.

The open-plan kitchen, dining and sitting space seats ten at the table. A utility room holds the washing machine and tumble dryer, and there is a games room with table football. The sitting room has a wood-burning stove and a furnished balcony, and the fuel, power and stove starter pack are included in the rent, along with bed linen and towels. Two TVs and WiFi are provided, and a cot is available.

Outside are a lawn, patio, terrace, garden furniture, a barbecue and sun loungers. The swimming pool is heated but only available between April and September, and there is a hot tub as well. Parking off the road is ample. One well-behaved dog is welcome, and smoking is not allowed. Bookings run weekly from a Sunday, and stag and hen parties cannot be accommodated. The house suits two or three families or a group of friends sharing; it is less good for a short break, as weekly stays are the only option.
