Penrose Bude

Penrose Bude is a four-bedroom house sleeping 8 in Stratton, just inland from Bude. The bedrooms comprise a twin zip-and-link bed that can become a king-size, two doubles - one en suite - and a bunk room with 2ft 6in beds better suited to children. Two bathrooms serve the group.

Wi-Fi, a dishwasher and a washing machine are included, and the enclosed garden has multiple seating areas for outdoor meals alongside a barbecue. A heated swimming pool is part of the property, though whether it is shared or private for guests is worth confirming at booking. Parking is provided and up to 2 dogs can stay.

Crooklets Beach and Summerleaze Beach are both 700 metres away, and Bude's tidal sea pool is within walking distance too. Northcott Mouth is a mile along the coast path. Stratton itself sits half a mile from Bude's town centre and keeps its own Norman church, along with the site of the 1643 Battle of Stamford Hill on the edge of town, covered in the Stratton guide.

**Best for:** a family wanting four bedrooms, an enclosed garden and two beaches within a 10-minute walk. **Less good for:** guests needing full-size bunk beds for adults or verified step-free access.
