Poppyfields

A single-storey cedar-clad eco lodge on the Tremorvu site outside Germoe, sleeping six across three bedrooms with two bathrooms. Floor-to-ceiling bi-fold doors open the living space onto a wraparound decked terrace, with farmland views in every direction. The setting is rural and quiet - no through traffic, no neighbouring streetlight.

The cottage runs as one open-plan room: kitchen, breakfast bar, dining table for six, and sitting area, all under a single high ceiling. Modern furnishing throughout, ground-floor layout end-to-end, and parking on site. No wood burner, no hot tub - this is a clean modern build, not a period conversion. Tremorvu sits between Praa Sands and Porthleven on its own private access lane, so noise and traffic are minimal.

Praa Sands is 2.1km south, with a mile of soft sand, summer lifeguards, and the Sand Bar pub built into the dunes. Rinsey Cliff and the National Trust Wheal Prosper engine house are 2.3km west along the coast path. St Michael's Mount is a 10-minute drive north across the bay at Marazion, and Penzance with its Scilly ferry and London train terminus sits 6 miles further on. Helston (Flora Day in May) is 5 miles east.

Best for couples or two families wanting a modern single-level base for west Cornwall beaches and the Lizard. Less good for guests after a traditional Cornish stone cottage, or for households needing a wood burner or dog-friendly accommodation.
