Portscatho

Portscatho is a first-floor three-bedroom apartment at Helford Passage, on the north bank of the Helford River in south Cornwall. It sleeps six across three bedrooms with one bathroom - suited to families or two households travelling together. The living room opens onto a Juliet balcony with views over the river and the boat traffic below.

Inside, the kitchen and living area are spacious. Wi-fi, dishwasher and washing machine are all included. The three-bedroom layout across a single floor works well for a family group, though guests sharing should note there is only one bathroom.

The shared site runs to an outdoor heated swimming pool open from 1 May to end of September, plus kayak and paddleboard hire. Helford Passage Beach sits around 100 m from the apartment, and the Ferryboat Inn - known for seafood and regular music nights - is close by. The foot ferry crosses to Helford village on the south bank for walking access to Frenchman's Creek. Trebah Gardens, Glendurgan Gardens and Falmouth are all within easy driving distance.

Best for families and groups who want beach, water sports and garden access in a single stay. Less good for guests needing a lot of private outdoor space - the garden is shared with neighbouring properties.
